See How First Priority Audio Helped This Homeowner Bring Stunning AV to the Theater and Living Room

It’s projects like these that make us think, ‘Wow, we have the coolest job.’

The First Priority Audio team recently had the pleasure of working on a new home build in the Lighthouse Point, FL-area. We partnered with the custom home builder to design and install unique AV solutions across a new home theater, living room, and even pool house entertainment system.

Whether you’re interested in a home theater installation for your own home or are simply curious, take a peek inside our project below. We share all the equipment brands used and our methods of creating a seamless, eye-catching media experience.

A Luxury Home Theater from the Ground Up

This was an all-new construction in Fort Lauderdale, and our team was brought in to create a luxurious, modern home theater. The house was still being constructed with unfinished walls, and we started by running network wiring for where AV, lighting, and climate controls would go.

This wasn’t your typical home theater with two rows of reclining seats. Instead, the homeowner wanted something a little more versatile, with a wall of windows overlooking the view, lounge chairs, and a coffee table.

For our part, we conducted a complete lighting design, installed a 133-inch projector screen, surround sound, and smart controls. Linear LED lighting ran along the walls and ceiling, working into the acoustic paneling on the wall. And the smart lighting scenes we programmed let the homeowner set the mood in seconds. This client had a specific vision, and with their input, we were able to create a completely custom and unique home cinema.

Excellence in Equipment

What technology brands did we use? For the 5.2.4 surround sound system, we installed Bowers & Wilkins architectural speakers that blend into the room. The Sony laser projector creates an ultra-bright and clear image on the 133-inch screen by Screen Innovations. But to block out any ambient light, Lutron’s motorized shades and drapes automatically darken the theater in a single command.

The linear lighting that shines across the wall and ceiling is made by the manufacturer American Lighting. All other lighting fixtures are by Vantage, and we integrated them all into a Control4 smart home system.

Versatile and Convenient Controls

Through Control4, this homeowner will be able to activate and automate their theater’s (and entire home’s) technology from one system. Whether using the Control4 app on their smartphone, touchpad, or handheld remote, they can press a “Movie” scene that automatically closes blinds, adjusts thermostats, lowers the lights, and powers on the projector. The client’s touchscreens control the entire house, but in the theater, there’s a dedicated touchpad for just the cinema technology.

Not-Your-Average Living Room TV

The home theater wasn’t the only place we installed jaw-dropping AV. In the living room, we mounted Samsung’s The Frame TV that turns into a beautiful work of art when turned off. We installed the television inside a niche with a Future Automation equipment box concealed behind the screen. This box hides unsightly wires and lets the display mount fully flush to the wall. We installed an entertainment system in the pool house, too, so the fun can carry on anywhere.
