Josh Edge: An All-New Remote
While Josh.ai started as a hands-free voice control solution, its creators understand that sometimes, it’s more convenient to grab a remote and press a button. After all, maybe your spouse is sleeping, and you don’t want to wake them using a voice command. Or perhaps it’s more intuitive to grab the remote to press ‘pause’ for the home audio system.
Understanding this, Josh.ai has debuted Josh Edge, the elegant, aluminum, hard-button remote that connects to your entire smart home system. Edge is designed to be simple, easy, and private to use, and it features a tap-to-talk voice control button. Like the rest of Josh’s products, Josh Edge is contextually intelligent, so it understands that if you say, “Turn on the lights,” while in the kitchen, it will turn on only kitchen lights.
The Josh Edge remote’s battery lasts for an impressive three months (!) and includes a side volume control similar to the design found on smartphones.
19 New Voices
Josh.ai voice control becomes even more customizable with its rollout of 19 new, AI-generated voices. These new voices include diverse tones, genders, and accents, letting you create a unique voice personality for your home voice assistant.
With the new 19 voices, Josh now offers nearly 30 distinct voice options. Whether you prefer a voice that's cheerful, serious, or anything in between, Josh.ai's expanded library makes your smart home experience more personalized.
New App Upgrades
Josh.ai is enhancing its smart home experience with its latest 5.0 app updates. A standout new feature is the revamped Areas view (pictured above), which allows you to create a unique layout reflecting your home.
The new Areas view simplifies how users access their most frequented rooms and interact with active devices. With customizable graphical tiles that users can arrange and expand, navigating between broad areas or specific rooms has never been quicker.
Josh.ai Touchscreens
Josh.ai is making its mark as a serious home automation provider with its new Josh Touchscreen controllers. Homeowners can now quickly swipe through rooms on the simple and elegant interface, and of course, tap-to-talk voice buttons are built into every touchscreen.
Josh Touchscreens features an eight-inch, high-performance IPS glass screen with edge-to-edge displays, and include proximity and light sensors to adjust the tablet settings accordingly. We can install Josh Touchscreens flush to the wall or positioned on a tabletop stand for convenient access across the house.
New Brand Partnerships
As a home integrator, it’s our job to integrate disparate devices into a unified smart home system, regardless of the product’s brand. But Josh.ai is making the integration process simpler and faster with new integration partners. As of 2024, Josh has officially partnered with Shelly USA smart home solutions and Vantage Lighting. Josh is already an official partner with brands like Sonos, Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Philips Hue, and more.
When adding partnered products to the Josh.ai ecosystem, these devices will automatically populate within the Josh.ai web portal, making setup faster than ever.
