Any other year, we’d walk the floors of the CEDIA Expo, watching demonstrations by the most innovative smart home technology brands. But this year, CEDIA went virtual and unveiled new products and seminars digitally.
The show still went on, showcasing virtual experiences and events from September 15-17. CE Pro also celebrated the most noteworthy new products with its BEST Products Award. Didn’t attend the expo? TVs - Samsung had its day in the spotlight with its new 4K outdoor TV, The Terrace. Built to withstand all weather and temperatures, this smart TV can stay installed outdoors all year long. The screen is about three times brighter than the average indoor TV, so you can still see your favorite shows and movies in full daylight.
Voice Control - Josh.ai’s Natural Language Processing technology lets you speak to your home naturally, like you would someone you know, and watch it respond to your commands instantly. Josh offers support of a slew of new music services including Pandora through Control4, Sirius XM through Sonos and the new Apple Music radio stations.
Wellness – Air filtration is of course needed to improve the air quality in the home, but how do you know where you stand and what’s affecting the air you breathe? A new device will assess air quality metrics so you can start breathing healthy air in your home. The Awair Element is constantly sampling the air in your home and providing an overall score out of 100 on the following air quality metrics:
-Temperature
-Humidity
-CO2 Levels
-Chemicals: Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
-Microscopic particulate matter: increase with cooking, smoke or even vehicle traffic
