Outdated LiteTouch System? Upgrade with a Lutron Installer
LiteTouch May Have Discontinued, But We Still Offer Support
Do you own a LiteTouch lighting control system? Maybe you had one installed years ago, or you recently moved into a house that came with a LightTouch system.
Unfortunately for LiteTouch users, the brand was discontinued in 2015, leaving customers with no official support. Thankfully, Lutron installers like First Priority Audio in Fort Lauderdale, FL, offer upgrades to Lutron lighting systems.
Here’s how our home automation company can fix or update your LiteTouch system with Lutron hardware and software!

What Happened to LiteTouch?
LiteTouch was founded in 1978 as a custom lighting control system for residential and commercial properties. LiteTouch was far ahead of its time with advanced lighting control features, but its systems required specific wiring, controllers, and power suppliers from trained professionals. In 2012, the brand was acquired by Savant and then shut down in 2015. Since then, Savant has ceased supporting and manufacturing LiteTouch products.
What This Means for LiteTouch Owners
Once LiteTouch shut down, it left existing system owners without any customer support or means to get replacement parts. Anyone hoping to expand their LiteTouch system or replace failing components had nowhere to go, leaving some systems inoperable.
Further complicating things is that LiteTouch systems require LiteTouch hardware to function. Its in-wall dimmers, switches, keypads, and panels can only be replaced with LiteTouch products and won’t work with off-the-shelf dimmers from Home Depot or other stores.
Some homeowners try to work around this issue by disregarding faulty dimmers/switches and reprogramming another nearby switch to operate the disconnected load. While that may technically work, it’s an inconvenient solution and can get frustrating when required in several places around the house.
A Solution: Updating with Lutron
Thankfully, not all hope is lost. Lutron—the lighting control manufacturer that’s very much still in business—offers an upgrade kit that’s specifically designed to work with LiteTouch hardware. It includes three unshielded wires (plus an unused fourth) that daisy chains between keypads/dimmers and the control panel.
A Lutron installer like our team at First Priority Audio can upgrade your outdated LiteTouch system (or any other lighting system) with sophisticated Lutron controls. Lutron responds to your commands immediately and makes it easy to customize the color and brightness of all your LED light fixtures. Automate lights to follow a schedule or sync lights to work in sync with motorized shades and thermostats. Lutron offers endless possibilities!
