At a private club in the Bahamas, we recently undertook a unique project: retrofitting the general manager’s private residence with cutting-edge smart home technology. 

This project wasn’t just about enhancing one home but also for demonstrating the possibilities for future homeowners in the club’s community. As a Parkland, Florida-based company, we frequently provide smart solutions to year-round and vacation homeowners. But this was a truly unique project we won’t be forgetting any time soon!

Showcasing the Possibilities 

The goal of this retrofit was to create a live demonstration of how smart home technology can transform a luxury lifestyle. From controlling lighting and climate to integrated audio-visual systems, we equipped the house with advanced solutions that were both functional and fun. 

This allows the general manager to experience smart home benefits firsthand while we provide a compelling, real-world example for other homeowners in the club's development.

Solutions We Installed

1. Audio-Video Control:
We equipped key rooms with both surround sound and distributed audio systems powered by Control4. Whether the manager’s hosting a casual dinner or a lively event, they can seamlessly control music and video through every room. 

2. Lighting Control:
One of the most striking upgrades was the home’s new lighting system. With full lighting automation powered by Control4, the general manager can now adjust the lights with a tap on the phone or custom-engraved wall keypad.

Control4 smart lighting offers personalized scenes that change the home’s ambiance for different occasions, all while reducing energy usage with automatic dimming and scheduling. This is the way lighting should be! 

3. HVAC Control:
To maintain optimal comfort in the tropical Bahamas climate, we installed smart HVAC controls throughout the home. With remote access through the Control4 smart system, the temperature can be adjusted from anywhere, ensuring the house is always ready with the perfect temperature. 

Plus, smart climate controls encourage energy savings by allowing scheduled adjustments during the day and night. It’s the best of both worlds: equal comfort and efficiency. 

4. Water Valve Monitoring:
Smart technology isn’t just for fun party tricks! We integrated a water valve monitoring system to prevent potential water damage—a critical feature in coastal environments. The system can automatically shut off the water supply in the event of a leak, giving homeowners peace of mind when they’re away.

5. Conference Room Upgrade:
Technology upgrades weren’t limited to the general manager’s home. As part of the project, we also updated the club’s conference room with state-of-the-art AV control systems. These systems simplify staff meetings by providing intuitive control over presentation screens, microphones, and sound systems, all managed from a single interface.

6. Custom-Engraved Keypads & Controls 

The goal of smart technology is to make managing home easier, and that’s where custom controls come into play. We provided the general manager with custom-engraved wall keypads to activate personalized room scenes. On the smartphone or tablet, the interface corresponds with favorite scenes and rooms, ready to activate with a tap of a button.
